I hold a Full Instructor certification in Jeet Kune Do and the Filipino martial arts under Paul Vunak. I have been diligently practicing JKD under the guidelines of Paul Vunak for 12 years. I am one of the few people in the world to attain this level of certification! I specialize in Rapid Assault Tactics (R.A.T), Jeet Kune Do (JKD), Filipino Martial Arts, and Submission Fighting, The R.A.T has been selected by the U.S. Navy Seals as their choice for hand to hand combat. This system has been taught to the FBI, DEA, and over 50 police departments across the country. I also developed Evidence Based Self Defense Instruction (EBSDi) which teaches methods of combat that have been field tested and proven to work!
I also hold Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Psychology, a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, a certification in Level I Reiki, a minor rank in Aikido, and a total of 10-12 years of various martial arts experience in Arnis, Escrima, Submission Fighting, Wing Chun, JKD Principles, Aikido, Fencing, and Muay Thai Kick Boxing. I have extensive training in relaxation training and behavioral psychology. I am a practicing Buddhist and a Vegetarian.
My objective is to continue to teach the effective systems that have been taught to me, to continue to grow in knowledge and foster others to do the same. I have been granted the right to change anything I need within JKD in order to benefit the art and the needs of the student. Change is necessary so that the practitioner can adapt to the ever changing times and situations.
The individual designs the art. Students learn for many different reasons; whether it is to learn the same system of real self defense that the Navy Seals utilize, to protect yourself or loved ones, or if you want to learn the more conventional or traditional types of arts in order to obtain relaxation, self discipline, and wellness of mind and body. All these are available to learn. For instruction information please feel free to contact me.

Thank you to Sensei Don Cardoza of the Wellness Resource Center/Aikido School for teaching me what it truly means to be a martial artist and for promoting respect, kindness, and understanding. The world would be a much kinder place with more people like him!
Thank you to Sifu Paul Vunak for his generosity, openness , and insights not only into systems of effective fighting but also for teaching me about “Adapt for Life” and what the martial arts can really do, especially for children and adults with disabilities.
Thank you to Tim Gillett for introducing me to the Filipino Martial Art world and getting me started with Submission Fighting. You put me up against guys I thought I could never defeat...but you knew that I could. Lastly, thank you for showing me that you can overcome anything as long as you don’t let your mind get in the way. (I won’t ever forget the intense training sessions!)
